Journalism

My interest in creating original work led me to my high school’s newspaper, Horizon, where I was able to write and edit plenty of articles. Rising from a staff writer to Editor-in-Chief, I learned to appreciate the efforts of my entire 27-member staff and how much work goes into each step of producing an award-winning paper. A digital record of my articles can be found below.

Myself and my co-Editor In Chief Alexis Raynor distributing a physical copy of one of our editions to students in our high school’s lobby.

My creativity was able to shine through the many articles I wrote, most of which were features and opinions where I took a more critical look at my subject. I also loved designing our physical editions through Adobe InDesign, which was sometimes frustrating but proved to be a valuable skill as a design major.
